Education System in Singapore
Singapore has different levels of higher education: institutes of technical education, polytechnics, universities and private institutions.
Institute of Technical Education: The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore provides two-year National ITE Certificate courses. Courses offered include business studies, engineering, communications and technology as well as beauty and wellness, creative media and hospitality.
Polytechnics: Polytechnics in Singapore provide three-year diploma courses, which can lead to university studies.
Universities in Singapore: Singapore has three local universities: two are publicly funded and one is private. Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore are public universities and Singapore Management University is a publicly funded private university.
There are also a number of universities from Australia, US, Canada and Europe who have established satellite campuses in the country or partnerships with local universities. These campuses or partnerships offer students from both Singapore and the region to follow an international course at a lower cost with a higher cost of living.
Private institutions and colleges: There are many private institutions which operate autonomously and include two arts institutions and more than 300 private commercial, IT, fine arts and language schools. Two quality-assurance bodies in Singapore ensure that private institutions meet student welfare and regulatory standards: the CaseTrust for Education and Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organizations (SQC-PEO).

Education Cost in Singapore
The average cost of education as per the duration of the courses is as follows:-
Diplomas: For the duration of 6 months- 2 years, the cost is in between S$5000-s$ 20000.
Bachelors: For the duration of 2-4 years, the Cost is in between S$ 24000- S$55000.
Masters: For the duration of 1- 1.5 years, the Cost is in between S$18,500- S$ 30000
Work while Study in Singapore
Overseas students at certain institutes of higher education i.e. Government universities are permitted to work while they study. During term time, these eligible students are permitted to work 16 hrs in a week. Work permits are not required for those who want to work during holidays. Overseas students should visit the website of Ministry of Manpower to find out if their institution’s students are eligible for work privileges.
Work after the Completion of Studies
Upon completion of the degree program, overseas students may submit an application for a one-year Visit Pass (Long-Term) to ICA, if they wish to seek employment in Singapore. This can be done electronically via e-VP (ltpass.ica.gov.sg/eltsvp/main.do).Prospective employers usually make this application for the student
